Tinder is broken and people seriously can't cope

People are fearing they may be alone forever as a technical issue is preventing users from logging into Tinder and those who can login say all their matches have been deleted.

So what exactly is happening?

On Wednesday people began reporting how they had been locked out of their Tinder account and become trapped in a never ending "login loop", like something out of an episode of Black Mirror.

The issue appears to be a consequence of  Facebook updating its policies regarding third party apps following the Cambridge Analytica data scandal.

People attempting to log into their Tinder account have said they received an error message that reads: "Facebook Permissions. Tinder requires you provide additional Facebook permissions in order to use a Tinder account. This information is used to create fuller profiles, verify authenticity and provide support." However, no matter what they did users couldn't login and this message kept popping up, taunting them into a sense of hope and despair.

In a tweet, Tinder addressed the login problem and said: "We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to have everyone swiping again soon."

Until Tinder fixes the situation, users can apparently login via the tinder.com website, where they can still view their matches, or alternatively they can attempt to talk to real people in the outside world.
