Brexit beer mats issued at Wetherspoons

Turns out popping down the pub is getting more political, as JD Wetherspoon founder Tim Martin has ordered the printing of 200,000 beer mats taking a stand in support of Brexit.

The pub chain, which has 920 locations across the UK, will be issuing the beer mats over the coming weeks before the 23rd June referendum.

The reason for Martin's feelings on Brexit, and the decision to print his opinion for the public at any of his establishments to see, are directly based around the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and its managing director Christine Lagarde.

Martin seeks to bring to pub-goers' attention to his issues with the IMF and his desire to leave the EU.

"[Lagarde] must now answer the questions on the beer mats and others that the public may have," Martin said.
