It seems that ice cream connoisseurs Ben & Jerry are just as excited about the return to our silver screens of Ron Burgundy as the rest of the world - to coincide with the release of the first full length trailer for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, they’re launching a new recipe.
What’s the new flavour that will take up its rightful place next to Karamel Sutra, Phish Food, Chocolate Fudge Brownie et al, you might ask?
Well, it’s scotch, of course. What other than ‘Scotchy Scotch Scotch’ for (probably) the world’s most quoted fictional television news anchor?
Unfortunately, there is no actual alcohol in the limited edition offering, which looks set to be available within the next few weeks – instead it will contain butterscotch ice cream and butterscotch swirl ribbons. Classy!
And it gets better – Scotchy Scotch Scotch was announced in New York alongside a performance from Anchorman’s Nutty the Waterskiing Squirrel, and was followed by the invasion of the Channel 4 News truck/Ben & Jerry’s van, which dispersed a number of Burgundy lookalikes to disperse samples to collected press.
Lisa Sholk, from Ben & Jerry’s marketing, said: “As a company who believes our fans deserve nothing but the best, we have great respect for Ron Burgundy, who takes the same belief to heart.”
We reckon this newest Ben & Jerry’s offering will take you all the way to pleasure town.
