Man attacks girlfriend with HP Sauce after catching her reading 50 Shades of Grey

A man has been convicted of assault after covering his girlfriend with brown sauce - because he caught her reading hit erotic novel 50 Shades of Grey.
Raymond Hodgson was convicted earlier this week for dousing his girlfriend in brown sauce. Hodgson, 31, doused Emma McCormick, 25 with the sauce after losing his cool over her choice of summer reading.
Hodgson was said to have lost it when he caught McCormick, with whom he had a five-year relationship, reading the novel. Reports say he stormed out of their home, and returned with a bottle of HP sauce, with which he then plastered his girlfriend with from head to toe.
Since its release in 2011, EL James' novel has become a topic of controversy. The series has sold in excess of 20million copies worldwide, but as this domestic demonstrates, not everyone is a fan of its salacious content.
After his arrest, Hodgson admitted that the assault was "foolish", but told The Sun: “I did what I did to show her what saucy really means."
