Double-ended dildo mistaken for new mushroom species in Chinese village

Last month a local news station was sent to the Chinese village of Liucunbu to report the discovery of a strange new variety of mushroom.

It later came to light that this ‘mushroom’ was in fact a double-ended rubber dildo.

Reporter Yunfeng Ye spoke earnestly to viewers about the suspected fungi that had been discovered while drilling a new well shaft. It was only when the report aired that the truth was revealed, as viewers realised that the object was designed for a very different kind of shaft.

One villager told the news station: “Even our 80-year-old neighbour here says he has never seen anything like this before”.

This is unsurprising after the revelation that the discovery is no stir fry ingredient, but a men’s sex toy with an artificial vagina at one end and anal counterpart at the other.

Ye was convinced that this was a type of lingzhi mushroom which promises immortality, saying: “When the Emperor Qin Shi Huang was on the hunt for the secret to longevity, it is said he discovered this lingzhi was the answer.”

The Xi’an news station’s footage was posted online and went viral overnight with internet users commenting on the 'meaty' finding.

Reporter Ye came out relatively well, though: she and the village were admired for their “purity”.

Xi’an news later sent out an apology for the awkward report, excusing Ye for being "very young and sheltered.”

You can watch the footage of the bizarre sex toy discovery below.
