In his song “Black Jesus” late rapper Tupac Shakur is known to have said “last wishes, niggas smoke my ashes”. Turns out, some of Tupac’s closest friends took the lyrics very seriously. Members of the Outlawz, the hip hop collective and group originally founded by the late rapper, have confirmed that they did indeed smoke the rapper’s ashes. Young Noble and EDI Mean, two of the Outlawz members, reveal in an interview with Vlad TV that in honour of their dead friend they smoked his ashes at a memorial event held for the artist. Young Noble speaks of the event, describing how the crew members and Tupac’s mum and family went to a beach for the memorial. “We threw in a lot of shit he liked at the beach. Some weed, some chicken wings, he loved orange soda... Pac loved that kind of shit, so we were giving him our own farewell” EDI Mean added that it was his idea to smoke the star’s ashes. He says he came up with the plan after listening to the lyrics of “Black Jesus”. “That was a request that he had. Now, how serious he was about it? We took it serious” Tupac was shot dead in Las Vegas in 1996. Tupac Shakur’s life is being adapted onto the screen in forthcoming film “Tupac”. Earlier this year the producers behind the movie let potential lead actors submit video auditions. Producer David Robinson has said that they were looking for someone with the “right mix of charm and charisma for the role”. He added that the crew were more concerned with finding someone who has the ability to give their entire heart into the performance than just looks and personality.
