A recent study by the price comparison website shopping.com has revealed that one in twenty people admit to foolish onl
ine purchases after drinking or when bored.
91% of the 1,360 people surveyed preferred shopping online to the high street. They stated the appeal to be a mixture of the deals advertised, amount of choice available and the lack of time consuming queues.
The top five online purchases made after drinking were;
1). Stuffed cat
2). Chinese speaking alarm clock
3). Dukes of hazard novelty horn for the family car
4). Five pairs of shoes
5). Ride-on mower for a gardenless property
The top five made due to boredom were;
1). 11ft dingy
2). Inflatable hot tub
3). Pith hat
4). Weed killing flame thrower
5). Meat hamper
Ofcom states that “Britain is now a nation of internet shoppers who spend twice as much money a year online than other European countries”.
