A recent study by the price comparison website shopping.com has revealed that one in twenty people admit to foolish online purchases after drinking or when bored.

91% of the 1,360 people surveyed preferred shopping online to the high street. They stated the appeal to be a mixture of the deals advertised, amount of choice available and the lack of time consuming queues.

The top five online purchases made after drinking were;

1). Stuffed cat

2). Chinese speaking alarm clock

3). Dukes of hazard novelty horn for the family car

4). Five pairs of shoes

5). Ride-on mower for a gardenless property

The top five made due to boredom were;

1). 11ft dingy

2). Inflatable hot tub

3). Pith hat

4). Weed killing flame thrower

5). Meat hamper

Ofcom states that “Britain is now a nation of internet shoppers who spend twice as much money a year online than other European countries”.
