Forget Formula One a new racing season has begun for the fastest grass cutters in Britain.
The lawnmower British Championship got off to a dusty start on Saturday with no Ferraris or McLarens insight – race vehicles are more associated with garden centres: Atco, Webb or Westwood.
Unlike F1, the machines are only allowed minor modifications although for obvious safety reasons, all the blades are removed.
There are three classes of racing: Group 2 – which look like a traditional lawnmower with a seat attached; Group 3 – those that look like a buggy and Group 4 – the lawn tractors.
With one race already out the way the Grand Prix season continues in June with the next meeting in Kent.
