The nightlife capital of Europe, Ibiza, and the ultimate beach break island of Menorca are perfect places for student summer holidays.

The summer break is definitely the best time for some much needed rest and relaxation after the previous year’s slog of essays and exams. Are you looking for an exciting place to explore? A quiet spot to grab some sunshine on the beach? Maybe it's late night partying you're after throughout the hottest months. Here are two Balearic islands worth considering where you can find all three.

A Unique Island

Ibiza is world famous thanks to its incredible nightclubs and stylish beachside bars, but it’s also a unique Spanish destination with its own laid-back charms and bohemian vibes. Beaches such as Cala Xarraca and Cala d'Hort might have been transplanted from the Caribbean whilst Cala Benirrás is one of the most popular spots to capture those famous Balearic sunsets accompanied by live music. Ibiza Town is the place to check out historic sites such as 12th century Eivissa Castle or head to the Punta Arabí Hippy Market in Es Cana, which boasts 500 stalls selling goods from around the world.

If you’re up for something a little more adventurous then spend some time hiking, horse-riding or exploring the ses Salinas National Park by jeep.

Beach Capital

If it’s beaches you’re after then it may surprise you to know that the little island of Menorca holds more beaches than both Majorca and Ibiza combined. Beauty spots such as the white sands of Punta Prima and Son Parc as well as the secluded Cala Turqueta are about as good as beaches get in the Balearics.

With its harbour restaurants and atmospheric cities of Mahon and Ciutadella, this island may offer a more relaxing atmosphere than Ibiza, but it can still pack a punch. Check out the cliff-side cave bar and nightclub, Cova d’en Xoroi, which is the ultimate sun-downer location where the partying lasts until 6 am.

It’s not too late to obtain some great last minute deals for June through to August on either of these sun-blessed islands. If you have a little extra time, why not hit the beaches before the peak season to take advantage of a super cheap holiday in the Balearics?
