Ibiza beach

The winter elements might still be lingering - but drift away with us to the White Isle as we take you on a tour of Ibiza’s top beaches...

From the idyllic beaches of Cala Salada to the club laden beach of Café Mambo, Ibiza has beaches suited to every kind of traveller.

We’ve listed some of the best so before you’ve even stepped off that plane you know where you’re headed.

Time to start dreaming!

Bora Bora – Playa D’en Bossa

Why only party at night when the island’s biggest fiesta has gone al fresco?

Bora Bora is the beach that never takes a siesta and keeps the party scene going both day and night. Fostered by the huge Jet Complex, the cluster of bars and clubs is always busy and full of party-goers.

Activities are also available across the beach from banana boats to pedalos and from water skiing to jet skis. You name it, they’ve got it.

Cala Salada

Step off the beaten track and escape to Cala Salada, a short drive from San Antonio, where the warm, turquoise water is more of a saltwater swimming pool than a sea.

The beach, though secluded is known for its cliff jumping spots and gorgeous snorkelling conditions so if you’re feeling adventurous take the “shortcut” over the stones and literally jump in. After exhausting your adrenalin, head to one of the local beach shacks for a fresh lime mojito.

Cala Talamanca

This cosy little beach lies in the heart of Ibiza Town and is the perfect rest stop from a busy day’s shopping at Vara del Rey or a bracing hike up to picturesque Sa Talaiassa.

This beach is literally sex in the city with dozens of gorgeous sun-kissed bodies accompanying the crystal clear waters. It is also home to some of the islands most fantastic dining locations perfect for that afternoon aperitif. This place is a real hit with locals and tourists alike.

Cafe Mambo

Right in the heart of San Antonio is Café Mambo. OK, Mambo’s partner coast may not boast the sand and crystalline waters of her sibling beaches, but she definitely deserves a mention.

This beachfront landmark is defined by its billowing awnings, bohemian sophistication and impressive list of patrons.

Hundreds of people unite each evening to pay homage to the Ibiza sunset, spilling onto the surrounding shore below. In Ibiza, sunset replaces sunrise as the town and clubs awake for the day’s revelry. This is the beach to go to if you are after some sun-soaked partying.

Playa Illetes, Formentera

Grab a ferry from La Savina to the island of Formentera and you land right onto a Thomas Cook cover page. This idyllic island is one of Ibiza’s best kept secrets.

Formentera’s pearl sands and azure water are completely unique from the busy, pepper pot beaches of Ibiza. Grab a picnic and beach-hop throughout the island on a bicycle for a lovely day with the world’s elite. Formentera gives you a rare opportunity to ironically, go on holiday in Ibiza: forget about the parties, the music, and the world and lose yourself with a book.
