For students travelling abroad this summer there are lots of savings to be made with a NUS extra and ISIC card. For just £12 the NUS extra card gives students access to over 160 high-street and online discounts, including a great range of travel partners such as STA Travel, Contiki, Trek America, I to I Volunteering, Lonely Planet, Holiday Extras and Low Cost Holidays. So even if your purse strings are pulling a little tight this summer, NUS extra can help make a summer holiday or travelling adventure more affordable. But the savings don’t have to stop at the airport. For £2.99 students can upgrade their NUS extra card to an International Student Identity Card (ISIC), which gives cardholders access to over 40,000 discounts in more than 120 countries - from camel rides in Egypt to scuba diving in Thailand. ISIC has over 4.5 million card holders worldwide and partners include big names such as Macy’s and Microsoft, and provide discounts on many of the world’s leading airlines, trains, accommodation and attractions, plus much much more. Alex Butcher, Marketing & Partnerships Manager for NUS extra, said: “It is getting to the time of year when students are heading to warmer climates for a little R&R or using their summer break to travel to new and exciting places. "An NUS card and ISIC upgrade is a must for anyone going abroad, not only does it give students access to lots of really useful discounts worldwide, but it is also an international recognition of your full-time student status. Plus, there is a 24-hour help line emergency service, so it gives peace of mind too!” NUS extra costs £12 and is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
