Bored of festival season meaning muddy fields, camping and the constant threat of a downpour? Well, we have something that might grab your attention. How does a pirate themed festival/party week on a boat in sunny Croatia sound? Departing on 17th August, Sail Croatia’s Avast Party Week ties in with the fantastic Pirate Festival in the historic harbor town of Omis. We can’t promise you Johnny Depp, but sun and stories are almost guaranteed. This cultural yet fun event takes place every year in the scenic Croatian port town of Omis, in remembrance of its pirate heritage. The festival’s highlight is a dramatic 13th century battle where cannons roar and smoke drifts across the water as bandannered pirates brandish their sabres. Hearty, pirate-style celebrations continue late into the night around the town. Sail Croatia’s Avast Party Week starts in the popular interrail city of Split and heads south to Dubrovnik, stopping off at Makarska, home of Club Deep (the club in a cave), before arriving in Omis for the Pirate Festival. From here, the small ship sails to the party island of Hvar for two nights, then on to Korcula, the birthplace of Marco Polo and the national park of Mljet, before arriving in Dubrovnik, the jewel of the Adriatic. Prices start from £549 per person (based on twin share) and includes a seven-day cruise, breakfast and lunches on board as well as an Avast Event Pass, which includes entrance to Omis Pirate Festival, an exclusive Sail Croatia pirate party, a DJ boat party, Dubrovnik live night and free entry and drink at selected bars & clubs en route. The price excludes local tax (20 euros per person). We think it sounds like a bargain. To book head to www.sail-croatia.com or call 0800 193 8289.
