TNT Travel Show 2013Held at the Islington Business Design Centre over March 9-10, the travel extravaganza (tnttravelshow.com) offers inspiration, seminars and exclusive deals for students planning a gap year or a summer trip.

As well as discounts of up to 50 per cent on trips and holidays in the UK, Europe and worldwide, students can also book group trips, overland routes and off-the-beaten track destinations in Eastern Europe, Africa, America, South America, Asia and Australasia.

And what’s more, it’s London’s largest free travel show with 3500 free pre-registered tickets available for every day of the show and tickets priced at just £2 after that, so pre-register now at tnttravelshow.com

Aussie comedian Mark Little – famous for his role as Joe Mangel in Neighbours – will be opening the show at 10am on Saturday, March 9 – and sticking around for beers and pies, so come and say hello.

As well as a blogging competition where you can win a fantastic prize to Oktoberfest (http://blogs.tnttravelshow.com) there will also be free-to-attend seminars offering expert advice and top tips.

On Saturday, March 9, Macca Sherifi, travel editor of gapyear.com, will be talking about volunteering projects available to students.

He says: “Volunteering not only gives you the opportunity to see a country from a different perspective but you truly can contribute to a community and a society; the sense of satisfaction you get from finishing a project is like nothing else. And of course, volunteering anywhere around the world looks great on your CV.

“The volunteering opportunities to choose from are pretty much endless, from an orphanage in Cambodia to taking care of lions in South Africa. And, of course, marine conservation in Madagascar and the Seychelles is always a popular project!”

On Sunday, March 10, Emma Jones, author of Gap Years – The Essential Guide, will be discussing ’50 countries before you’re 30’. She says: “Find out what volunteering in Peru, working on a cruise ship, hitchhiking to Morocco and driving across USA have taught me and how you can do it, too.”

Also giving destinations talks are Trek America and Visit London, while Topdeck will be offering expert advice on Europe and the biggest and best festivals.

TNT Travel Show visitors can also expect to win prizes on the day – with blogging and travel photography competitions due to be announced on tntmagazine.com – as well as relax in the bar area.

“The TNT Travel Show will provide essential information and inspiration for students who want to book a great trip at a budget price,” Carol Driver, group editor at TNT Multimedia, says.

“Last year people were queuing to get into the show before the doors opened – and, with the exclusive travel deals and jam-packed programme of seminars and entertainment on offer, we expect it to be the same on March 9-10.”

The show opening times are Saturday, March 9, 10am-6pm, and Sunday, March 10, 10am-3.30pm, at the Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, Islington, London, N1 0QH.
