Celebrate 90 years of Mickey Mouse in style

Headphone manufacturer Beats has teamed up with Disney to collaborate on a very special pair of headphones to celebrate Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday.

The release is a pair of its Beats Solo3 Wireless headphones with a Mickey Mouse design. 

The Solo3 Mickey Mouse edition has the exact same features as the normal Solo3s. Fast Fuel means that you can get three hours of playback after just five minutes of charging, as well as 40 hours of battery life when fully charged. Inside is the Apple W1 chip, which will allow you to easily switch between your iCloud devices.

The Mickey Mouse edition also comes exclusively with a felt case, inspired by the Mickey Mouse ear hats, an anniversary pin, and a decal sticker.

But Mickey Mouse - what does he have to do with music? The special headphones are to celebrate Mickey Mouse’s impact on the music industry in the last 90 years. He made his first appearance in Steamboat Willie back in 1928, which was Disney’s first ever synchronized sound to a cartoon.

In 1940 Mickey Mouse was in the classical musical Fantasia. This lead to the variety show "The Mickey Mouse Club", created in 1955. In 1978 Mickey Mouse even got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The joint campaign between Disney and Beats focuses on origin stories, Disney’s being Mickey Mouse and what he did for the company and Beats’ looking at the origin stories of big artists such as Anne-Marie.
