Doctor Who will return on October 7th, BBC One have revealed, and the new Doctor isn't the only thing shaking up the show.

Series 11 featuring our favourite time-travelling alien will kick off on October 7th on BBC One. Having moved entirely in the hands of showrunner Chris Chibnall, the long-running series will find a new home on Sunday nights.

"New Doctor, new home! Jodie Whittaker's Doctor is about to burst into Sunday nights!" Chibnall exclaimed on the BBC DW website.

But that's not all! Whittaker's premiere episode title has been revealed as being 'The Woman who fell to Earth', a play on both the David Bowie film, and the predicament that the 13th Doctor has found herself in after regenerating.

The BBC hopes this year's series will mark "a brand new era with a new Showrunner, a new Doctor, new friends and a whole host of new monsters".

Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC Content said this new era made it "only right to give it a new home on Sunday nights at the heart of BBC One’s Autumn schedule. ”

Get ready by October 7th, as "The Thirteenth Doctor is falling from the sky and it’s going to be a blast!"
