'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' unveils new mobile game

Cult comedy favourite It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is set to launch a mobile game later this year.

It's Always Sunny: The Gang Goes Mobile is a new interactive game developed by FoxNext Games and East Side Games that will allow fans of the long-running series to play as the Paddy's Pub Gang.

Drawing heavily on the questionable schemes and shenanigans of the past 12 seasons of the show, players will be able to indulge in the same ridiculous get-rich-quick ploys as Charlie, Mac, Dennis, Dee and Frank.

The aim of the game will be to tap and unlock as many ill-concieved stategems and side characters as you can, whilst immersing yourself fully in all your favourite gags and storylines from the series.

To celebrate the new title, the team behind the game created a cryptic pictogram inspired by the distinctive (and illiterate) stylings of Charlie Kelly.

Fans in the know may be able to decipher the note for themselves, but for those who can't, the note reads: "Charlie needs a friend. Charlie burn money (in a dumpster) and is sad. Please stop the fire. Charlie is inside the phone. So do!"

The series is set to return for its 13th season on 5th September in the US. Following last season's finale, fans have been in the dark on whether or not Dennis will be returning to Paddy's Pub. While the show's creators have been nothing but cryptic on the matter, the mildly psychotic 'Golden God' is at least a playable character on the new mobile game.

A UK release date for the 13th season has yet to be revealed, but the first 12 seasons are currently available to stream on Netflix.

The game is expected to be released later this year. You can sign up to be among the first to play on the game's website,
