E4 have announced seminal TV drama Skins will return for a seventh series, but with a difference - instead of a new cast the series will centre on former characters Cook, Effy and Cassie as they navigate their way through their early 20s. With two one hour episodes per character, viewers will see how their favourites are getting on after the heady party days of their teenage years. Skins Pure will follow Cassie, alone and confused in London but being followed. Cook in Skins Rise confronts his violent past as he is sent on a drugs delivery job and in Skins Fire Effy gets drawn into a dangerous affair with her boss whilst working as a receptionist for a London Hedge Fund. Not only has the series kick-started the careers of actors like Dev Patel, Daniel Kaluuya and Joe Dempsie, Jack O’Connell (Cook) Kaya Scodelario (Effy) and Hannah Murray (Cassie) themselves have all had commercial success in movies and major TV shows. Co-creator, Brian Elsey said: "I am delighted that three emblematic actors, currently embarking on successful movie careers are returning to E4 and Skins. They will play their iconic characters as they emerge into adulthood, and bring new challenging stories of young adults, grappling with life in Cameron's Britain, to vivid and entertaining focus." The series will be filmed from October to January and will air on E4 next spring.
