Police have been searching for the second year student whose disappearance was described as “out of character” and discovered the body earlier today.
No formal identification of the body - which was found in Whiteknights Lake on the Reading University’s main campus - has taken place but Daniel’s parents have been informed.

The death is being treated as unexplained and is not believed to be suspicious, police said.
Superintendent Stan Gilmour said: “Tragically officers searching for Daniel have located a body.
"While the identity of the person who died is yet to be established, we have informed Daniel’s family and are providing support to them.
“Please could I make an appeal to respect the privacy of Daniel’s family at what must be a deeply difficult time for them.”
University activities are continuing today but the university has asked people to be respectful at this difficult time.
