BREAKING: Body found in search for missing Worcester student Tom Jones

A body has been found in the search for missing Worcester student Tom Jones. 

Police Mercia have cordoned off an area around the River Severn after a body was located in the waters today (28 September). It is believed to be the body of Tom Jones. 

The 18-year-old went missing last week after a freshers week night out in the city. He was last seen in the early hours of Wednesday 19 September, he had only moved to the university three days before his disappearance. 

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: "Sadly, officers searching for missing 18-year-old Thomas Jones have recovered a body from the River Severn in Worcester today (Friday 28 September).

"Thomas' next of kin have been informed but as formal identification has not yet taken place, no further details can be released at this time."
