A Loughborough Students’ Union officer who was fired in March has been banned from campus for life following the conclusion of a student disciplinary hearing.
Gafyn Donald held the role of Media Executive but will now never be able to step foot on any part of the Loughborough University campus, including the SU buildings, for the rest of his life.
The reason for his termination of employment and subsequent campus life-ban has not been revealed and is being kept as confidential information “due to any further on-going investigations”, according to a statement from Loughborough Student Union (LSU).
The whole statement released by LSU said: "As a result of an investigation, Media Executive Officer Gafyn Donald’s employment at LSU was terminated on 14th March 2018.
"Following a subsequent Student Disciplinary Hearing Gafyn is now subject to a full-life ban from LSU. This also means he is not permitted to enter the Union premises, day or night, and is barred from partaking in any Union activity of any kind.
"The University has followed this with a campus-wide ban."
"Whilst recognising this will naturally result in speculation, other details regarding this case remain confidential due to any further on-going investigations."
Gafyn was elected to the role in March 2017 for the 2017/2018 academic year, in his campaign he promised voters an increase in Youtube views on the SU’s channel and when elected to the role featured in the 2017 LSU Exec Song, a cover of Despacito.
