There are less than two weeks left to get your applications in for The Network - the prestigious and comprehensive introduction to the TV industry, run by the Edinburgh International TV Festival. The Network is a talent programme that aims to identify and nurture emerging talent. It’s free to attend, and will see successful applications travel to Edinburgh this summer to kick start their career in this very competitive – but hugely exciting - industry. There are 50 spaces and attendees will be hand-selected, so competition is fierce – but the reward is the chance to meet and learn practical TVmaking skills from the industry’s leading figures. The Network is an access-for-all scheme, and is open to anyone aged 18 or above. No qualifications are needed to apply - applicants will be chosen on the basis of the potential they demonstrate in their application. The organisers also put a strong emphasis on encouraging those from underrepresented groups in the TV industry to apply. It’s a chance for those who want a career in TV to get a foot in the door within the industry, and find out what it’s really like to work behind the camera. The criteria for those who apply is as follows: Over 18 years of age by 25 August 2015. In full time education or in the final year of college or university and not returning to education in September No TV experience needed to apply, however if applicants have worked in television they must have no more than 3 months PAID experience - unpaid internships and work experience are not included.
