Students choosing to study in London can expect to pay £752 per month for a privately rented apartment, according to a new survey.

UniplacesCentral London and East London are the most popular places with students, with Shoreditch, Camden and Bethnal Green topping the popularity list with accommodation provider Uniplaces, creator of the survey.

The cheapest places to live in London are in South East London, with private rooms averaging out at £704 per month.

“Rents in London are historically high, but there are good deals out there for students coming to UK universities from abroad,” said Ben Grech, CEO at Uniplaces.

“It’s important to remember that, in London, there’s something for everyone and prices do vary significantly from area to area and from room to room. For example, rooms in private halls of residence come in at over £100 a month more on average, but offer an all-inclusive package that is particularly convenient for international students,” he added.

The most expensive place for students to live in London is West London, with averages rents coming in at a budget-busting £880 a month for a private room.
