John Moore, a student at SOAS, University of London, has been crowned the first official Pot Noodle Scholar. John, from Hanwell in London, will have his tuition fees paid for the year, have a Pot Noodle-branded life, and an “epic party” thrown in his honour.
As the Scholar, John is now the supreme brand ambassador. He is set to live a unique Pot Noodle-branded life, with everything from t-shirts and trainers to bed sheets and bus pass holders. He will lead various activities on campus throughout the year and will have his university debt cut by over £8,000 with his 2013/2014 fees being paid for him.
The noodle brand launched the nationwide scholarship search in September, calling for students to submit their entry via Facebook.
From a shortlist of the 20 best entries, the public voted for their favourite, whittling the number down to 10 fraternity members. John then battled it out against the others to be chosen for the scholar status.
John rose to scholar-stardom by pledging his love for the brand and answering the judges’ brief of what to do in four minutes while waiting for your Pot Noodle to cook. John created a genius video, which sees him on a frantic mission to reclaim the last ever Pot Noodle before waking to realise it was just a horrible nightmare – his Pot Noodle is safe and ready to enjoy.
