Teaching English abroad experts i-to-i understand that it is a difficult time for young people either trying to secure a place at university or to stand out in the job market.

In a recent nationwide survey of over 400 people conducted by i-to-i, it was identified that 48% of 18-25 year olds take a gap year to gain additional skills for their CV.

So, you’re looking for gap year opportunities. If you’ve considered teaching abroad, you might be about to strike gold: i-to-i TEFL is offering one young winner a five month fully supported gap year internship in China.

The China internship provides an easy way for young people to live and teach abroad for five months. The prize includes free accommodation, 24/7 in country support, free food and a 140 hour TEFL course, which will qualify students to teach abroad for life.

Peter Mummery, Managing Director says, “We are looking for one lucky candidate to win a once in a lifetime opportunity. Not only will they gain some amazing travel experiences and see the world, they will also be building their CV with a five month work internship.

"In the current economic climate young people are facing challenging times and it’s no longer just about qualifications; employers want a combination of experiences that will demonstrate key qualities and skills in the work place. This internship will give one young person the perfect starting point.”

The prize includes:

·         Five months living and teaching in China

·         Prize worth £1,095

·         Seven day orientation in Harbin, China

·         24/7 support

·         Accommodation

·         Food (Mon-Fri)

·         Monthly spending allowance

·         140 hour weekend TEFL course

·         Mandarin lessons

The competition will open on August 19th (today!) and end on August 26th, so if China is your destination of choice and you think you can take on the challenges of Mandarin alongside a TEFL qualification, you’d better get your skates on.
