This trend was not in fact started by Cancer Research UK themselves, but by a group of women posting their bare faces along with a donation of a few pounds. In just 24 hours the charity received over 800,000 donations, and that number has been rising steadily ever since.
So the pressure is on ladies - is it possible to not dare to bare once you are nominated? This viral trending has caused a mixed reaction, with some people raising concerns over the relevance of make-up free faces to such a poignant cause as Cancer Research. The big question is whether we are in danger of comparing the act of displaying an unadorned visage to the world with the bravery of the millions who are fighting the battle against cancer.
