At the recent D23 Expo, Disney’s Park and Resorts Chairman, Bob Chapek, confirmed rumours that a Star Wars hotel is in the works.

The Star Wars themed hotel will be a part of the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge theme park in Orlando, Florida.

The hotel will resemble a spaceship from the Star Wars universe and will provide an interactive experience for guests over their stay: a narrative that unfolds throughout the length of two days. There are also rumours of ‘secret missions’ and duelling with lightsabers.

The Telegraph reported that at the announcement of the hotel, Chapek stated: “From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story! You’ll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire.”

He continued: “Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories and adventures that unfold all around you.”

The hotel will offer two night stays only and will cost approximately $900 to $1,000 (£700 to £780) per person, including meals and access to the theme park.

A Disney spokesperson said: “We know our guests love all things in the world of Star Wars, and we’re continually exploring new ideas and gathering guest feedback as we develop plans to bring Star Wars to life at Disneyland Park.”
