Oxford University’s African and Caribbean University has presented the grime artist, Stormzy, with their “Person of the Year” award for his “amazing contributions to our society and the wider black community.”

Stormzy collected his award in person and tweeted about his time with the Oxford society.

In his speech, Stormzy thanked the students for the honour and stated: “I think it’s easy for the public to look at footballers, rappers and entertainers and see us as the epitome of black excellence, but I feel that it’s actually you guys.

"At the end of uni, you lot are becoming doctors and lawyers, the medical scientists.”

This positive news comes after Stormzy hit the headlines after the Irish Herald published a photo of him in an article mistaking the artist for footballer Romelu Lukaku. Stormzy naturally reacted angrily to the mix-up.
