Do you ever sit and squirm at The Apprentice? Reckon you’re a better entrepreneur than Lord Sugar’s candidates?
If you have an idea that could solve any energy, food or water challenges in your local community, the country, or reckon it could even change the world, the Shell Ideas360 programme is for you.
As a global student competition, Shell Ideas360 is both stimulating and exciting – the prize is an adventure holiday with National Geographic! So, as well as changing the way we think and turning ideas into reality, there’s also the chance to embark on a trip of a lifetime.
Working with Shell experts and mentors, this is the start of a journey into realising your idea and the business potential it has. Whatever your idea or vision may be, Shell will work with you to bring it to life.
Working individually or in a team of up to three student innovators, you’ll be able to shape your idea before the submission as you join learning sessions. Leaders in their disciplines will be invited to share inspirational talks in a series of online engagements - so get ready to debate, discuss and educate.
For the proceeding parts of the programme, participants will be assigned a mentor in Stage 2. You can join the Development Sessions, which will help you formulate your idea further. Along the way you can join the learning sessions on leadership and business skills training, which will totally offer skills to enhance your career.
Previous contestant Vivian Wong, of team Tri-gen from the University of Cambridge, says: "We’ve had an amazing time over the last few months developing our idea. It’s fantastic that we have had the opportunity to work with so many great people to turn this project into something really tangible.”
So, by now your submitted idea is about ready to tackle your identified energy, food or water issue and you’re one step closer to that superhero status. Not only this, but your CV and networking contacts are looking pretty impressive too. You’ve ideated and innovated and now the competition heats up. Finalists will be invited to present and pitch their idea to a panel of senior Shell executives and further external leaders in London in June 2017, after three days of intensive coaching.
Who knows where this journey will take you? It’s not just a programme or any competition, it’s the chance to take opportunities that are exclusive. The chance to create something which will make a difference. The chance to develop skills that will mould your career. The chance to make visions a reality and the possibility to jet off with National Geographic.
If you are studying a bachelors degree in any degree discipline at a recognised university, with a graduation date after May 2017, these chances are all yours.
Time is running out to register quickly and proceed to submit your idea. Idea submission closes on January 20th, 2017. Register for Shell Ideas360 here.
