Dream of seeing your name in print? Now is your chance. National Express are running a short story competition, and the winner will see their entry published at the end of the new e-book edition of Jenny Colgan’s best-selling novel The Good, The Bad and The Dumped this August. All you have to do is write a short story that centres on the theme of “journeys”, whether literal or metaphysical. The entry should be original and unpublished, and up to 2,000 words long. Jenny Colgan herself will be on the panel of judges picking the winning story, as will her editor at Little Brown Book Group and a representative from National Express. The winner will hear from them at the end of May. Jenny, who now has 14 novels to her name, says: "Everyone has a story to tell. Everyone has had drama, or happiness in their lives - or maybe you've got something funny or smart to say about the ordinary day to day- and we want to hear it from you! Whether you've written a bit before or are a total beginner, why not tell us your story and see where we can go?" Entries are already being accepted, and you have up until the 28th of April to get yours in through the National Express website. So get writing, and good luck!
