Last year, Sziget hosted Dua Lipa, Kendrick Lamar and Shawn Mendes. Somehow, they’ve topped that lineup for 2019.

The 1975 also join this year’s line-up after their string of arena tours earlier this year. Whilst pop enthusiasts will undoubtedly get their fix from the headliners, as well as Tove Lo and Years & Years, Sziget’s lineup is arguably one of the best around this year; across its seven days, there is something for every lover of every genre going. For the indie-rock die-hards, the Budapest festival promises Franz Ferdinand, James Blake, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, whilst also bringing back legendary guitarist Johnny Marr of The Smiths and Razorlight (what a throwback!) And what festival line-up would be complete without summer staples, Catfish and the Bottlemen? Those seeking funky, summer-synths can immerse themselves in some of the biggest names amongst modern disco: Parcels and Jungle, whilst indie-pop fanatics can sing their hearts out to the mesmerising dreaminess of Roosevelt, HONNE, Chvrches and Mura Masa. This year, the festival has partnered with Superar, who use music to empower disadvantaged and unprivileged children. Sziget is the perfect excuse to explore Budapest in all its sunny glory, whilst basking in some of the best live music on offer right now. And, more importantly, they’re going greener every year and it’s all for a good cause. What’s not to love? Sziget Festival runs from the 7th-13th August and tickets are available to buy here.
