The Londoner pop princess, Starling, releases the stunning ‘You’ following the release of her third EP, The Soul, earlier this summer.

Starling has had a run of great releases since her debut EP in 2016, The Heart, which led to her second, The Body, in 2017 receiving massive compliments from the likes of Annie Mac, Clara Amfo, Wonderland Magazine and many more.

Her ground-breaking single, ‘Profiteroles’, from The Soul truly shows an alternative twist on a classic pop track, signifying her difference to the usual pop singers of today.

‘You’ follows suit but with a much more personal twinge; talking about the track, Starling states, “it’s a love song about hunger; that absent love you can have with someone who is fixated with going out than with being together”. This is incredibly clear in the lyrics, pulling on an emotional thread that we can relate to – the recipe to a perfect pop song, her interesting vocal arrangements make for something different.
