There aren't many more accomplished in the folk-acoustic music genre than Jack Johnson, and the surfer-come-songwriter is back with a calming track called 'Sunsets For Somebody Else'. Despite building a music career spanning over 15 years, Johnson has never quite reclaimed the success he gained from his 2005 album 'In Between Dreams', which was undoubtedly his most acclaimed record. It was that album in which you could argue his 'signature sound' was truly formed. Well fast forward 12 years and it appears the veteraned Hawaiian has reverted back to the soulful, soothing tones he became so well known for. 'Sunsets For Somebody Else' is a heart-warming melody. Johnson steps back from the band-like music, stripping back to solely him and his acoustic guitar. He lets his deep, refined vocals guide the gentle hooks. "You find yourself looking up at night, from the bottom of the earth" paints an image of lazy, hot American summers and lounging on a beach infront of the stars. In typical Jack Johnson fashion he manages to romanticise any meaning or situation, in a track which is refreshing for fans to hear. The single is the third he has released this year in the run up to his seventh studio album, out September 8th.
