Tucked away in Lancashire’s picturesque Ribble Valley a unique music festival is set to play host a wide array of top artists…
Included in the line-up of this year’s Beat-Herder festival are Sleaford Mods, Crystal Fighters, Kelis and The Sugar Hill Gang, among others.
Taking place from the 14th to the 16th of July, the Beat-Herder festival’s varied offering is spread across a set of remarkable stages.
The ‘Toil Trees’ stage is described as “the birth place of Beat Herder” and harks back to a less than legitimate past when “foliage camouflage was a necessary measure”. Visitors to the Toil Trees are invited to “channel (their) inner wood-sprite” with “turntable shamans” and “the loveliest light show EVER, anywhere”.
Other stand-out stages include the Fortress, Beat Herder’s home of beats, techno and house, and ‘the Beat-Herder and District Working Men’s Social Club’. At the latter visitors are told to expect “local turns, proper pints of bitter, F**king BINGO, Variety acts & a bit of blue for t' Dads!” The mocked up social club will also be hosting ‘Beat-Herder’s Got Talent’.
Looking further down the line-up there are more great names and the likes of Milky Chance, Jackmaster, Skream and Mr Scruff will all be performing. The line-up is exciting not only in terms of content, but in terms of variety, with everything from the Toots and the Maytals to a DJ set from Faithless on offer.
With variety of acts on offer as well as a brilliant setting, Beat Herder is a stand out festival offering. If you’re thinking of making your way to the Ribble Valley, be warned, this year’s fancy dress theme is the letter ‘D’. Get as imaginative as you want.
