Lifted from the debut album Scatter and released through the band’s very own label Matilda Records, Crushed Beaks latest offering 'Overgrown' is an energetic dosing.
Fast paced with a hazy structure, reminiscent of the golden age of jangly guitars and floppy fringes.
Fraught with the infectious melodies and bouncing rhythms of classic 80s indie-pop, this is a fun, foot-tapper.
A vibrant infusion of pop noise with garage guitar this shows Crushed Beaks potential as a great indie band.
Fuzzy vocals portray the sinisterly sweet lyrics ‘we all have little secrets that we never learn to keep’ in sing/shout-a-long anthem.
With a vibe that’s reminiscent of The Cure's most pop moments, the South London indie-pop boys are certainly making the right noise.
