As the makers of the video for Noel Gallagher’s ‘Do The Damage’ know, nothing is more culturally relevant than roller blading.
The track, accompanied by footage of a roller derby bout, fits the Noel Gallagher blueprint of addictive indie rock.
Yet, as with most of his post-Oasis work, the track is expansive, and flourishes with its varied instrumentation.
Speaking to NME about the track, he said: 'Do The Damage? It might be the 23rd best song I ever wrote. It was, for about a year, gonna be the opening track on the album until the 22nd best song I ever wrote appeared.’
