NirvanaYou can’t exactly replace Kurt Cobain, but with their induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nirvana just had to play live.

After being inducted by Michael Stipe of REM the remaining members Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear took to the stage with guest vocalists Joan Jett, Lorde, Annie Clark of St Vincent and Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon.

All in all it was a pretty awesome tribute to Kurt’s memory and one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

As if that wasn’t enough the bands took to the stage for an unannounced secret gig to 200 people following the ceremony at New York’s St Vitus venue.

Joined again by St Vincent, Joan Jett and Kim Gordon the trio were also joined by J Mascis of Dinosaur Jnr and John Mccaluey of Deer Tick to play a hit-packed set.
