The Bristol lad has been tipped by Radio 1 as one to watch this year, and with new single 'Cassy O' it’s easy to believe. Nope, sadly the single isn’t a clever pun about a watch. Though the lively track will make you forget all sense of time as you dance away. Bouncy and full of energy, a repetitive chorus had to be in there. I mean, it’s practically law for singer songwriters who carry a guitar. Cassy o o o o o, please don’t leave. It’s almost compulsory to visualise yourself at a festival sing-a-long; after you’ve quickly nailed the chorus, so you treat yourself to pressing repeat. There’s no denying the folk sensibility. Though Ezra manages to gloss finish the deep, rougher vocals with the pop glints. It’s possible that the twenty year old is the love child of Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan, how else he has such depth to his voice? Effortlessly powerful with the vocals, 'Cassy O' is naturally likable. Smoky vocals accompanied by smooth acoustic chords, keep your ears pinned back because Ezra is all you’ll be hearing this year. 'Cassy O' is an up-tempo escapist summer tune telling a story by a guy with a guitar. It will have your hands clapping and toes clapping for the unforeseeable future after just one listen. Allow yourself to fall in love.(And watch the quirky and clever video): Stripped from the forthcoming EP of the same name along with 'Get Lonely With Me', 'Over The Creek' and 'Coat of Armour'.
