Last Sunday brought much promise to SBTRKT (aka Aaron Jerome) fans after BBC Radio 6 Music’s Mary Anne Hobbs bagged a world exclusive first listen to part of his latest work.

SBTRKTWith ‘Hold The Line’, expect an animated and unsteady rhythm underlying sharp synths, both encompassed by a delightfully relentless bassline.

His 2011 self-titled album was critically acclaimed for comfortably spanning the borders between genre, this new piece typifying such a view through its hybridised approach to garage and post-dubstep.

Better yet, this is not all to expect from Jerome’s musical project in the near future;

“These tracks will form a collection of vinyl 12”s before my next album and its singles, maybe a digital release too. They’ll be out in a couple of months. All instrumental stuff along the lines of the music that I’ve put out on Ramp or the early Young Turks releases, transitioning between my last album and the next one”.
