There are few festivals that gets us as excited as Primavera. Line-up announcements from the Barcelona event have us staring at our screens in disbelief at the quality on show.
2014’s is now out in its (near) entirety and it is a thing of beauty. A music lover’s Mecca.
The offering as expanded massively on the initial three-pronged headliner hit of Pixies, Neutral Milk Hotel and Arcade Fire into a something-for-everyone smorgasbord of sound.
Some of the biggest current names, Foals, Disclosure (pictured), Haim, Metronomy and Kendrick Lemar join a far reaching, genre-defying bill that includes the likes of Mogwai (touring their best album in years Rave Tapes), Nine Inch Nails, The National, St. Vincent, Factory Floor, Black Lips, Warpaint and the obligatory set from Shellac.
There’s some special coups for this year’s Primavera too. Reformed shoe-gazers Slowdive and Loop are both back after 20 years away, while in the “legends” category, blues, jazz and funk mainstay Dr John and Television (playing their classic album Marquee Moon) will also perform.
This really only scratches the surface of a line-up that brings in talent from across the globe as well as some exceptional local bands.
As if the music hasn’t already completely sold it to you, Primavera takes place at, amongst other city locations, the awesome Parc Del Forum on the city’s Mediterranean coast. A stunning setting to hear all those stunning sounds.
Taking place through the night, it leaves you with the opportunity to explore one of Europe’s best cities or just chill on the beach.
If one of the best line-ups all year, almost guaranteed sunshine, beaches and a brilliant city sound the right thing for your summer festival experience, get a ticket to Primavera right now.
Line up: Pixies, Disclosure, Arcade Fire, Nine Inch Nails, Haim, Kendrick Lemar, Mogwai, Cut Copy, Metronomy, The National, Factory Floor, Slowdive, Slint, Loop, Dr John, Television, Warpaint, CHVRCHES, Queens of The Stone Age, Superchunk, Dum Dum Girls, Jamie XX.
