New Band of The Day: LOLO

With a soulful sound bristling with bravado, LOLO is a pop sensation in the making. Singer songwriter Lauren Pritchard first came to our attention when she lent her voice to Panic! At The Disco’s 'Ms. Jackson', but with two stunning singles Lolo looks ready to take centre stage.
The first single released under the moniker LOLO was 'Weapon For Saturday', a track with such bombast and swagger that it wouldn’t feel out of place as the next Bond theme. Stylistically, her voice will inevitably draw comparisons to Adele, but even such complimentary comparisons are reductive. Her newest single is 'Year Round Summer of Love', and it is every bit as upbeat as the name suggests. A bouncy piano riff accompanies a hip hop beat as the track builds to a chorus with a simple, yet memorable vocal hook. With people lining up to proclaim her the next Amy Winehouse or Adele, the expectation for LOLO’s incoming debut is high. But if these two tracks are anything to go by, there really is no limit to how successful LOLO can be.
