New Band of The Day: Traditions

Share This Article:

Pop punk is a thriving genre once more. After years of being confined to the underground, bands such as Man Overboard and The Wonder Years are taking pop punk to new places and breaking through the genre’s glass ceiling.

Pop punk’s new found popularity has led to the emergence of bands such as Massachusetts five piece  Traditions, that draw on the style and ethos of the genre’s innovators.

This is certainly evident in their debut song Wax and Wane.

The song shows the bounce, drive and angst common to the genre, yet there is a rougher edge, with the occasional bursts of aggression adding to the passion. Importantly it feels like the band already have their own individual sound.

The band have shown that they want to carve out their own niche in the genre, and with some fine tuning Traditions could become innovators in their own right

'Wax and Wane' will be available as part of Take This to Heart records upcoming split EP, which features No Tide, Traditions, Knockout Kid and Fourth & Goal and is set for release on 3rd December.
