Press to MecoPress to Meco, have had a busy ten months releasing their self-titled debut EP and playing in excess of 65 shows – no wonder they are considered ones to watch.

The three-piece then returned to their Croydon den to pen the follow-up EP Affinity, developing a more mature sound.

Affinity is a step away from the pop-rock 2012 single ‘All the Same’, yet retains the character of its predecessor. The second EP can always be difficult, but in this case, the lads have nailed it.

Affinity is filled with melody and technical brilliance. To fully appreciate the songs, you've got to look beyond the overall sound and listen to individual instruments. The technicality of the musicianship has seen the band likened to Coheed and Cambria and Biffy Clyro.

Highlight tracks are ‘Tired Bones’ with its great range of dynamics and technical musicianship, and the EP's closer Love and Reason, full of great vocal harmonies and juggernaut guitars.

Overall, Affinity is a solid second release for the band and shows huge promise for where the band can take things next. Watch this space.

Affinity will be released 27th May 2013
