Festival Preview: Green Man Festival 2013
Situated in the magnificent Black Mountains of the Welsh Valleys, Green Man festival is acclaimed for being the most beautiful festival in the UK.
The 2013 line-up boasts refreshing new and acclaimed talent such as Ben Howard, Band of Horses, Villagers and Local Natives.
In addition to musical acts, the festival offers goers a dip into the arts of comedy, poetry, art and science as well as fantastic locally sourced food for the four days, which is a winner for treat seeking students.
A sense of magic flows through the numerous stages; headliners at the Mountain’s Foot, laughs and giggles at Babbling Tongues, mind-blowing science at Einstein’s Garden and the UK’s only 24-hour festival license for those who love a late night DJ session.
Whilst the weather is not always guaranteed to be on your side at Green Man Festival, there is always somewhere to retreat to especially at Fortune Falls where interactive art and theatrical lighting make festival goers feel like they are in a fairy tale as opposed to the rainy Welsh Valleys.
To top it all off, the festival recognises the unhealthy pockets of students and offers a discounted ticket of £125 for the four days with an NUS or ISIC card. For £40 extra, students can turn the festival into a holiday to camp three days before gates open.
Line up: Band of Horses, Ben Howard, Midlake, Local Natives, The Horrors, Swansea, Villagers, John Cale, Edwyn Collins, Stornoway, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Woods, Fossil Collective, Half Moon Run.
