New Band of The Day: Oyama

Oyama are an Icelandic five-piece from the capital of unique music, Reykjavik.
Their debut EP I Wanna is out now exclusively on Iceland based online music store Gogoyoko.
The Icelandic equivalent of HMV works as a double act, a source of music and distribution.
You won't see Gogoyoko's departure any time soon that's for sure.
Oyama are one of many exquisite Icelandic bands to come out of the country's scene in recent years.
Just last year we saw Samaris leave an impression on music listeners all over the world with their EP Stofnar Falla.
Oyama released their debut EP late last year, with the intention of further releases in the coming months.
I Wanna is a very loud release, with Oyama taking a full-on guitar-driven approach.
It's not often a quiet/loud band with both an indie rock and shoegaze influence manages to fuse instrumentation, vocals and structure in this way.
Like Samaris, Oyama are on a steady climb to the top of Iceland's volcanoes.
We will wait for the explosive albums Oyama are capable of creating.
