It’s 21 years since Blur’s debut album Leisure was released! There’s a new career-spanning box-set out and last night the indie-legends performed a series of rare tracks for BBC 6Music.
Aired on the Steve Lamacq show the band opted for lesser-know tracks from album such as Parklife and 13.
They also played new songs Under The Westway and The Puritan, plus 1993 B-side Young & Lovely.
They also played the track ‘Caramel’ live for the first time ever.
The gig was Blur's first for three years, and came a fortnight before they play the Olympics Closing Ceremony-affiliated gig in Hyde Park on August 12, alongside The Specials and New Order.
After their 6Music show, the band played a set for BBC Radio 2 which included more well-known tracks such as Popscene, For Tomorrow, Out Of Time and Beetlebum.
