Keep an eye out for The Skints
The Skints are a four piece reggae band from London, with a sound so varied you’d hardly believe it. They bring to their music an infusion of dub, spoken word, hip-hop and dancehall, exuding so much energy and passion that it will simply blow you away.
Following the release of a stunning Debut album, Live Breathe Build Believe, The Skints' have given us Ratatat, the first single from their upcoming album, which currently sits at number 2 in the iTunes reggae chart. This track is far darker than their previous offerings. They create a kind of rap-soaked dub sound, with vocalists Marcia and Josh rapping and singing faster than ever before, until they break into the soulful, yet edgy chorus. It’s exceedingly catchy - hypnotic even - and you’ll find yourself singing along before too long. The single marks a massive progression for The Skints from Live Breathe Build, whilst still retaining all the factors that made it nothing less than an amazing debut album.
With pledge funded second album Part & Parcel set to be released on April 9th by Penny Drop Recordings/Bomber Music and a headline tour in October, 2012 looks like it could be an incredibly exciting year for The Skints.
