New Band of the Day: Islet

TNS has been watching Islet for a few years now, ever since we saw them support Los Campesinos at The Venue in Derby in 2009 (or was it 2010?) At Leeds Festival last year they had got even better...or so I am told?
Why didn't the other TNS staff tell me about them sooner?
If debut Illuminated People is anythng to go by, Islet have a kind of wonderful, quirky energy that's hard not to be impressed by.
They've had two records out prior to their debut, but this is certainly their best work yet.
Eccentric. Sporadic. Explosive. Their ambitious tunes combine prog, electro and conventional, yet noisey indie.
We at TNS love 'What We Done Wrong' which includes the most infectious, enveloping and electrifying ending we've ever been exposed to: a spiney, rickety wave of a beast that's as eccentric as it is enveloping. The track below is something special...
