Formed from two very different musical entities – one is a Venezuelan guitarist and veteran of experimental electronic groups, the other is a drummer formerly of defunct English indie-pop group Plans and Apologies – Parts make one hell of a racket!Now based in Barcelona Parts is an international meeting of minds and a vibrant collision of styles. Their first release ‘R. Higuita’ named after the Colombian goalkeeping legend showcases their unique, bullying sound; all the more impressive for just two musicians. Like a stripped-down version of DFA 1979 with electronic undercurrents, PARTS sound is simple but indefinable.
Too experimental for the Barcelona’s rock scene yet too loud for the experimental scene (the police pulled the plug and arrested the band at an early gig), R. Higuita is the refining of the bands brutal live sound. http://music.higuita.net/
