On Tuesday, Drake was spotted at the University of Miami filming a new music video for his single God's Plan.
Hundreds of students congregated outside the Shalala Student Center and sang along with the musician who wore a Miami U shirt during the visit.
Employees of the music record were spotted displaying signs with filming consent rules on campus.
The sign informed students that 'by entering the premises you consent to be photographed and or televised by means of a tape and video recording.' The display acknowledged that Universal Republic Records, its successors and licensees would be allowed to use the recordings.
The event was made more memorable when Drake awarded Biology student Destiny Paris James a $50,000 scholarship.
In her Facebook post, James explained how her essay for an earlier scholarship programme was shared between the university departments. She was invited to film a video talking about her life events and encourage scholarship donors to continue donating when she was surprised by the Hotline Bling singer.
The singer left campus in the early evening, cheered on by students.
