Video shows students throwing drink on two black men for kneeling during anthem

Last week, two students from California Baptist University poured fizzy drink over two black men for taking the knee during the national anthem at a LA Lakers game.

Savannah Sugg tweeted the video of her friend Haley Perea throwing the drink and saying: "Excuse me, this is for the national anthem you piece of shit."

She captioned the video with: 'Take a kneel for the land of the slaves. Disrespect the flag and our country and that's how we'll react.'

The recording has since been taken down as have both Sugg (left) and Perea's (right) social media accounts.

Their actions have been followed by major backlash on Twitter with users contacting Perea’s workplace to complain.

A spokesperson for Heroes Restaurant & Brewery confirmed to The Tab that Perea was still working there.

Before deleting her social media, screenshots of Perea’s past tweets emerged where she constantly used the n-word. She describes how her room mate 'freaks out every time' Perea calls her the racial slur.

In a statement, CBU's Dean of Students Anthony Lammons said:

"California Baptist University does not support or condone such behaviour.

"Based on the video, the incident did not take place on our campus.

"Nonetheless, CBU takes such behaviour very seriously; we will investigate, and take appropriate action."
